Chelsea woman hurt in collision with crane

 CHELSEA �� A local woman was hurt Thursday when her car was hit by way of construction crane on Route 9.

Sally Gousse, 76, was arrive at MaineGeneral Infirmary in Augusta with serious injuries after the 1 p.m. accident, Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland said in a very news release.

Gousse, driving a PT Cruiser, served of her driveway near Tims RV Service and in the path of the crane, McCausland said, which Green was driving north towards Augusta on Route 9.

Eugene Green, 52, of Manchester, who was driving the bridge crane, has not been hurt.

Gousse was trapped inside her car. Chelsea Fire Chief Shawn Ramage said crews worked for a half hour to reduce her free.

��The important rig swerved, looking to stay away from the collision, but struck the automobile on the driver��s side,�� McCausland said.

Rescuers initially needed a LifeFlight helicopter, but an airplane wasn’t immediately available so the request was canceled.

Route 9 was closed in your neighborhood approximately an hour or so.

Gousse��s car was destroyed, McCausland said.

There seemed to be little harm to the bridge crane, that’s owned by Vassalboro-based W.H. Green and Sons.
