Crane driver jailed for raping teenager on a lift home

 A used tower cranes driver who raped a woman while giving her a good start home has been jailed for 14 years.

David Wright, 50, subjected a teenage girl to nine indecent assaults, two rapes and an attempted rape, in the late 1980s.

He was also found responsible for three counts of indecent assault against another teenager from the late 1990s.

He was found guilty on all 12 charges after a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

Wright, formerly of Alfred Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, was sentenced on Tuesday to 13 years in prison, plus a further year to run consecutively.

Legal court heard Wright became a used tower cranes driver before his crimes inside 1980s.

He can sign the sex offenders use life.

He preyed around the first girl giving her lifts home.

However rather of taking her to safety, he took her to a park your car and raped her in the rear of his van.

After sentencing, investigating officer DC Alice Dingwall said: ��Wright��s predatory behaviour culminated in horrific attacks on vulnerable teenage girls.

A legal court heard Wright was a used cranes driver during his crimes within the 1980s.
