Liebherr delivered four new LTM 1055-3.2 mobile cranes to the Swiss Army.

The units were built at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen, Germany and carried out Reiden, Switzerland. The cranes were fitted with minor supplements like crates for wood and snow chains together with cameras and further equipment for building steel girder bridges.

Among the uses of the all-terrain cranes will be to build temporary bridges. Liebherr said that it designs and builds consoles, that happen to be installed on the partially extended sliding beams for these special projects. A couple . 5 tonne girder is defined on these and secured. A connecting yoke is put about the girders for driving about the bridge. The mobile crane then drives on to the steel girder bridge and fits the next thunderstorm it’s carrying at the appropriate endwise the piles. Whilst the crane is driven back on land and it is loaded for cycle, a wheel loader lays the path surface.
