The Man in the Crane
Bulldozers, backhoes, and earth movers are transforming the UConn Health campus as new buildings and parking garages are increasingly being constructed. Though the little bit of construction equipment that shines over the skyline may be the 250 ft. high tower crane that may be being utilized to develop the revolutionary hospital tower.
As the crane is difficult to overlook, the person operating it is nearly hidden from view in just a tiny compartment on the top. Wayne Miller, who have been focusing on cranes since he was 15, just isn’t fazed with the dizzying heights and hard in a small, confined space. In point of fact, Miller says he loves his job and willt imagine doing other things.
