Workman ‘lucky to survive’ after crane ‘snaps in half’ on Docklands housing development

 A workman was come to hospital with head injuries from bridge crane ‘snapped by two’ on a housing development by London’s Docklands this afternoon.

Crews from the London Ambulance Service were called to Fairmont Avenue and took the man ‘being a priority’ for the Royal London Hospital.

The person, who police said is within his 30s, also suffered lacerations if your bridge crane within the Providence Tower site partially fell shortly before 5pm.

Police await an update on his condition but he was conscious and breathing once the incident, Scotland Yard said.

Roads throughout the development were closed to get a short period of time while emergency crews were in the scene.

Citizens were also forced to evacuate a nearby restaurant as a safety precaution.
